Online I/O does not prove that time-critical sampling is synchronized. If motion or acquisition becomes irregular while devices remain connected, inspect distributed-clock diagnostics and task timing together.

What is happening?
Distributed clocks align local device timing for supported functions. Synchronization, cycle configuration, and application scheduling are separate concerns from basic link availability. Beckhoff exposes clock-related diagnostics that should be interpreted with the device and master documentation.
Check these five things

Worked example
A synchronized acquisition model produces uneven results only when a host workload starts. All slaves remain online. Comparing clock deviation with task timing helps separate clock alignment from late application processing; neither a green link LED nor a ping answers that question.
