A stable pressure trend is not always evidence of a stable process. A restricted impulse path can damp or isolate the transmitter from real pressure changes. Compare expected process variation and instrument diagnostics before praising the smooth signal.
Process connections require qualified isolation and maintenance procedures.
What is happening?
Impulse lines and process connections transmit pressure to the sensing element. Blockage, trapped phases, and installation conditions can alter response. Some transmitters provide diagnostics that help identify abnormal behavior, but capabilities vary.
Check these five things

Worked example
A teaching process changes pump state, but one pressure signal remains nearly unchanged while independent evidence responds. That discrepancy suggests a measurement-path investigation. It does not justify opening a pressurized connection to see whether it is blocked.
