A fault that follows operating time or cabinet temperature deserves a thermal-context investigation. That pattern does not prove a failed PLC, but it helps design a better evidence capture. Compare temperature, load, ventilation state, and component diagnostics over the same period.

What is happening?
Equipment has specified environmental and loading limits, and installed conditions can differ from room temperature. Heat sources, blocked airflow, duty cycle, and component deterioration may affect operation. Time correlation is a clue to test; several nonthermal processes can also change after an hour.
Check these five things

Record repeatable fault timing, ambient conditions, operating load, and recent maintenance.

Worked example
A cabinet runs normally after startup, then several devices report warnings during sustained high load. A temperature trend and ventilation inspection can test a thermal hypothesis. Replacing the first device that alarms may leave the shared condition unchanged.

The mistake to avoid
