Analog Value Flatlines at the Top? Find the Saturating Stage

A flat upper reading can mean the measurement chain has reached a limit. Trace sensor output, input range, raw conversion, scaling, and software clamps before assuming the process has stabilized.

What is happening?
Saturation can occur at several stages. A transmitter may limit its output, an input can reach its range boundary, or application logic can clamp the engineering value. Downstream scaling cannot recover information lost upstream.
Check these five things

Worked example
A teaching raw input keeps increasing while the HMI remains fixed at 100 because of an application clamp. In another case the raw input also stops, pointing upstream. Those two traces distinguish a display constraint from loss of measurement range.

The mistake to avoid
Extending the software scale beyond the hardware range only invents values from a saturated signal. Change range selection through the approved measurement design.
How to verify the fix
Verify endpoint behavior, overrange diagnostics, and recovery using the specified calibration method. Confirm consumers can distinguish a valid maximum from an invalid saturated condition.
