Contactor chatter can indicate unsuitable coil supply or a mechanical seating problem. Compare the coil specification and actual operating conditions before treating repeated closure as a PLC program fault.

What is happening?
Coil voltage, supply frequency where applicable, mechanical condition, and the magnetic assembly affect operation. A command bit only indicates requested energization. Repeated contact motion can damage equipment and should not be accepted as normal behavior.
Check these five things

Worked example
